Round steak recipe with a tasty gravy made with onion soup mix. INGREDIENTS:
3 to 4 pounds round steak, cut in portions
salt and pepper
flour
2 tablespoons oil
2 carrots sliced
2 onions, sliced
1 package dry onion and mushroom soup mix
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 can water PREPARATION:
Sprinkle round steak with salt and pepper, toss with flour. Heat 2 tablespoons
oil in a large skillet; brown steak pieces on both sides. Place half of
round steak, carrots, and onions in crockpot. Combine dry onion and mushroom
soup mix with cream of mushroom soup and water.
Pour half of sauce over steak, carrots, and onions. Repeat layers. Cook
on high 4 to 6 hours.
Serves 8 to 12.
Note from Ness: By the way...This recipe sounds alot like a pot roast
I make often. I just toss a 2-3 lb. roast (I never brown it first) in
the slow cooker/Crock Pot with whatever veggies I have, usually carrots
& potatoes, and add a can of cream of mushroom soup and a half can
of water. It sort of makes its own gravy from the cream of mushroom soup.
