1-1/2 pounds ground beef
1/2 cup bread crumbs
1 egg
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 (10 ounce) can tomato puree, divided
1/2 cup brown sugar, divided
3 tablespoons vinegar
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup water
Lightly mix the first 5 ingredients, add 1/2 can tomato puree and 1/4
cup brown sugar. Shape loaf in shallow pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45
minutes. Drain fat. Combine remaining puree with remaining ingredients,
and bake 45 minutes more. Baste occasionally. Serves 4.
