Bood meat loaf recipe
1/2 pound [227 g] chicken livers, beef liver or pork liver
1 small onion
3/4 pound [340 g] 50% lean ground beef
1/3 cup [80 mL] fast cooking oatmeal
1/2 cup [125 mL] tomato juice
1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] salt
1 small egg
Sauce
1/2 cup [125 mL] cream of tomato soup
1/2 cup [125 mL] tomato juice
1/8 teaspoon [0.5 mL] onion salt
1/8 teaspoon [0.5 mL] thyme
1/4 teaspoon [1 mL] salt
Preparation
Finely mince liver[s] and onion in a blender or a mincer; reserve.
Soak oatmeal in tomato juice for 10 minutes.
Add liver puree, ground beef, egg and salt to soaked oatmeal; mix well.
Pour into a weel greased bread pan.
Bake in a 350°F [180°C] oven for 60 minutes.
Prepare sauce.
Serve meat loaf, along with hot sauce.
Sauce
Mix together cream of tomato soup, tomato juice, onion salt thyme and
salt.
Heat over low heat.
